This week, Marbella welcomes the seventh edition of the Starlite Festival, the most important boutique festival in Europe, and we are all very excited here in Marbella as many were unsure if there would even be a Starlite 2018, given the debacle with politics last year.
Wednesday 11th July was an unfortunate day for England and the World Cup, however, some of us missed the match and attended the opening night of Starlite Marbella instead! The iconic Latin idol Luis Miguel charmed a mainly Spanish audience including a couple of celebrities, Paula Echevarría and her husband, footballer Miguel Torres. Marbella is a great place to go celebrity spotting!
Starlite Festival Marbella 2018
Starlite Festival Marbella has officially become the longest running festival in the World, running every night of the week, for 45 nights, from 11th July until 25th August. Visitors can expect a tantalising night filled with music, gastronomy and culture all set against the stunning back drop of the ‘La Concha’ Mountain. The exact location of the concert is the Nagüeles quarry situated high up behind the Sierra Blanca Urbanization. The uniqueness of the quarry gives visitors a real opportunity to get up close and personal with the artists, with seating for only 3,000 visitors, and there are tickets for everyone including the Marbella style deluxe seats situated just 2 meters from the stage. Given the intimacy and the extraordinary acoustics of the natural open-air amphitheatre, visitors to Starlite are guaranteed a magical experience!
Starlite offers a restaurant which opens every day at 20:00 for gastronomic delights and there are two locations to enjoy the artists. The Auditorio is for the main concerts which begin at 22:30 and Espacio for DJ sessions and gigs which begin at 02:30 depending on the artist. Tickets can be purchased for the concert which includes entry to ‘Espacio’ or alternatively you can purchase a ticket for Espacio DJ sessions only. Check the Starlite Festival website to see which DJ’s part of Gold Sessions are as these will start earlier.
Some of the massively talented International and National artists set to perform in the auditorium are Estopa, Romeo Santos, Sting, Shaggy, Texas, Jamiroquai and James Blunt to name just a few. Gold Sessions DJ’s include Nervo, Hardwell, Gianluca Vacchi and Martin Solveig!
Estepona Concert
Estepona has dramatically evolved into a major hot spot for properties and new developments, but it’s also garnering the attention of major tourism. So, it’s only fitting that Estepona would host some of their very own concerts this summer. One such concert will be performed by the legendary band UB40, featuring Ali, Astro & Micky – a real labour of love 40th anniversary tour. The concert is set to take place on August 16th at the Plaza de toros Estepona.
